|Paris to Provence - An Adventure of Vineyards, Culture, and Food |
|In partnership with The Olive Odysseys, Patricia (Haskett) '84 and Manolis Hajifotiou will be your tour guides on a ten-day adventure through France. Three days will be spent in Paris, then we move on to the Bordeaux region where some of the most famous wineries in the world are located. Our trip continues to Avignon and the famous Pont du Gard ancient aqueduct and bridge, as well as experiencing the lavender fields of Provence.|

|Do you know any college students who would be interested in taking summer courses at Hiram College? Summer is a great time to catch up or get ahead on coursework! Hiram College is offering over 50 on-campus, off-campus (Northwoods, Lorain County Community College, Cuyahoga County Community College) online and blended courses and workshops. Summer courses are also a wonderful way for students to stay on track and graduate in four years. It's easy for students to register. Current Hiram College students can simply go to my.hiram.edu. Students that attend other colleges and universities should call 330-569-5161 to register for a course. |

|Students Honor Dean Riedel with Endowment in Honor of His Retirement |
|After 10 years of service, Eric Riedel, Vice President and Dean of Students, is being honored by the student body with an endowment in his name. “The Dean of Students Discretionary Student Activities Endowed Fund” was announced at the April 1 Student Senate meeting.|
Riedel knew the endowment was being created, but what he didn’t know was that it was being created in his honor. He was thankful and surprised when the students shared the news.

|Music Professor Unveils Original Opera “Verlorene Heimat” |
|A true story about bravery and the devastating losses caused by war will unfold as Associate Professor of Music Dawn Sonntag premieres her original opera “Verlorene Heimat” (Lost Homeland) at Hiram College.|
The opera is presented as part of the Marcia Kenyon Bissell Musical Theatre/Opera Workshop, with performances at 7:30 p.m. on April 10 and 12, 2014, in the Renner Theater. The opera features 25 Hiram College students, three community members and two professionals. Admission is free.

|Join us at Hiram and meet more than thirty authors from the Western Reserve area. Have your books signed (copies will be available for purchase), attend panels and/or readings, and take in all the great literature of the area. |
The Festival, co-sponsored by the Friends of the Hiram College Library and the Lindsay-Crane Center for Writing and Literature, is free and open to the public.
