Celebrate Your Hiram Days at Alumni Weekend
Our website is now accepting registrations for Alumni Weekend. Gather your friends and family and sign up quickly as many of the weekend events have a limited number of seats. From canoeing and painting class to political lectures and musical performances, there’s something for everyone to enjoy in our weekend program. After dancing the night away under the Hinsdale Arch, you can even spend the night in one of our residence halls.
There is still time to submit your nominations for the 2016 Hiram College Alumni Awards presented by the Alumni Executive Board. The four awards are Lifelong Leadership, Alumni Achievement, Alumni Volunteer, and Recent Graduate Service to Humanity. The deadline for nominations is Friday, March 25 and the awards will be presented during Alumni Weekend on Saturday, June 18.
Join President Lori E. Varlotta, alumni, and friends in the Columbus area for an evening reception at Bravo Cucina Italiana on Thursday, April 7. Mingle with other "Capital City" Terriers and learn about the latest happenings on Hiram Hill.
Alumni and friends from the “Windy City” are invited to join President Lori E. Varlotta for a cocktail and hors d’oeuvres reception at La Stanza Ristorante at Labriola Chicago. The gathering will take place on Monday, April 18. The low price of $10 includes food and your first beverage.
The Alumni Executive Board (AEB) is accepting nominations for their 2016-2017 membership seats. AEB members serve a two-year term and work with the Office of Alumni Relations to consider, endorse, and support the College’s strategic initiatives and campaigns. Nominations will be accepted through Friday, March 25.
Congratulations to Coach Kibler and the Men's Basketball Team
Men's basketball posted their best season in recent memory, going 19-7 overall and recording 12 NCAC wins, the most since Hiram joined the conference in 1999-00. In addition, head coach Chris Kibler was named NCAC Coach of the Year, while senior J.J. Woodson earned Second Team All-NCAC honors and sophomore Kelvin Jones was named Honorable Mention All-NCAC.
Something big is coming on Friday, April 29 when we join together nationwide as a community of alumni, parents, students, faculty, staff, and friends in support of Hiram College. The Alumni Executive Board is sponsoring an essay contest for alumni to share, “What Makes Hiram Unique?” Three winners will be selected for prizes including an all-access pass to the 2016 Alumni Weekend festivities, a free night’s stay on campus, and a free reunion dinner. Get those creative juices flowing! Deadline for submissions is Tuesday, April 26.
