Summer in the Woods: An Adventure at Northwoods

Friday, July 17th, 2015 - Sunday, July 26th, 2015

Bring the family and join friends to discover (or rediscover) one of
Hiram's greatest treasures, Northwoods!

Hiram College has reserved ten days this summer to enjoy a vacation at the beautiful Northwoods Field Station in Michigan's Upper Peninsula. Come for a day or stay for all ten! The options for enjoyment are endless: hiking, canoeing, fishing, swimming, nature-watching, stargazing, biking, but most of all lots of relaxing and
enjoying the company of friends.

Northwoods is in the Hiawatha National Forest just twelve miles from
Lake Superior. The camp overlooks beautiful Cherry Lake and is surrounded by forests, meadows, bogs, rivers and lakes. Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore,
Seney National Wildlife Refuge, many waterfalls and other points of interest are a short drive from the camp.

Need some ideas to extend your experience?

ACCOMMODATIONS
Cabins are rustic and sleep 8 in bunks and lofts.
Modern bathroom facilities are available in the Lodge but
composting outhouses and bathing in the lake are still the norm.
There is no electricity or cell phone access.
The main lodge has a full kitchen, and comfortable spaces
for eating, meeting and relaxing.
Our caretaker will prepare meals to keep us well nourished.
A complete list of essential items will be included upon registration.

MEALS
Attendees have the option to join at the main lodge for breakfast, lunch and supper
prepared by the caretaker or can plan to bring their own snacks.

TRAVEL
You can either drive to and from Northwoods
(perhaps vacationing and sightseeing before or after)
or carpool with friends and extend the fun!
