A Terrier Once Again and a Job!

Melissa L. Maskulka, Class of 2007, graduated a Terrier once again, this time in the Class of 2009 from Boston University School of Medicine.  She obtained her Master's degree in Mental Health Counseling and Behavioral Medicine.  Additionally, she will be employed by the Syracuse (NY) Veteran's Health Administration as part of the Center for Integrated Healthcare in a research based position focusing on PTSD and substance use disorders.  She looks forward to seeing you all at Alumni Weekend!

A Terrier Again

Melissa L. Maskulka, Class of 2007, is a Terrier again, this time graduation from Boston University School of Medicine with a Master's degree in Mental Health Counseling and Behavioral Medicine.  She hopes to pursue a position as a clinical interviewer in a research study focusing on post-traumatic stress disorder.

Christopher Toth '02 received his PhD in Rhetoric and Professional Communication from Iowa State University in May. He has accepted a tenure-track position in the Department of Writing at Grand Valley State University.

Rural Community, Global Reach

Sarah Chase '02 has been named the new Head of PR & Marketing for Rural TV.  Rural TV (www.ruraltv.tv) is the world’s first 24-hour international television network dedicated to crossing borders with farming, equine, rural lifestyle, and traditional country music entertainment programmes.  The channel launched into over 9 million United Kingdom television homes on SKY channel 279 at high noon on March 2, 2009. Originating from offices in London, England, RURAL TV is now available in over 20 countries throughout western Europe via broadcast satellite, and world-wide through its broadband operations on ruraltv.tv.

Sarah will be working to build a broader audience within the UK and Europe.  She is devoted to developing Rural TV's base of intelligent, groundbreaking, timely and visually stimulating programmes, as well as securing a steady stream of new and ever more active sponsors of rural programming and passions.

Courtni (James) Thorpe, Class of '98, and husband Peter W. Thorpe proudly announce the birth of their son, Oliver Wilfred, who arrived on December 27, 2008 weighing 7 pounds, 15 ounces.  The family lives in the Westpark neighborhood in Cleveland, Ohio

Julie Kocka '07 and Jonathan Weaver '07 were engaged in December 2008! Julie finished her Master of Arts in Sports Administration at Central Michigan University also in December 2008. She will begin interning in the Corporate Sales department for the Cleveland Indians during their 2009 season!
