I would like to submit for alumni class notes that I retired on December 31, 2017, as a Special Counsel with the U.S. Treasury Department, Office Comptroller of the Currency, after 32 years total with the federal government. I plan to spend time traveling and doing railroad historical research. I have already completed a trip to southeast Asia in January and February, and will be going on the Hiram Alumni trip to Italy this fall.

Live in a delightful retirement village in a duplex apartment. Don't know of any alumni in the area. I enjoy cruising. I have visited many beautiful parts of the world, including Antarctica.

As for an update, my latest awards were for my website. I was notified last week that it was considered one of the best author online websites of 2017 by The Writer Awards who reviewed thousands of websites. The second award was for having one of the best author blogs of 2017. The group said they had never awarded more than one at a time until my website and author blogs were viewed. If you wish to see my website, it is: www.irenebaron.com

My husband died on September 12, 2016 at home. I am left with so many memories. We met during freshman orientation in Sept. 1955. He was wearing his H Club jacket, which I still have. Also a blue and white blanket and the 1956 Spiderweb yearbook.

I am excited about the accomplishments of the administration. Started a commercial real estate company on my own. Get together in Denver periodically with my college running mates Paul Dickinson '71 and Dave Blankenship '71.
