The goal of this award is to recognize an alumna/us for meritorious service to Hiram College or any of its alumni associations, and in excess of service rendered for which remuneration is received. Meritorious service includes service in the form of:
- active participation in alumni or College affairs,
- faithful and continued effort in maintaining class or other alumni organizations,
- fundraising,
- or assistance in expanding the usefulness, influence, and prestige of Hiram College.
The Alumni Volunteer Award will be presented in recognition of service of great value to the College through the Alumni Association during the previous year. The award will be given as is warranted, and not necessarily every year.
Awards may be given for outstanding service in different areas of the College such as:
- Admissions,
- Career Services,
- Alumni Relations or Development.
Outstanding service may include committee service within the Alumni Executive Board or extraordinary service to the Alumni Association, the Board of Trustees, the Board of Visitors, the Planned Giving Committee, or the Capital Campaign Committee.
